I am just putting this out there, hoping someone is looking for me too :) I was born November 14, 1985 @ St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY, adopted three days later. Birth name was Linda. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'10".... Like my b-dad :) b-mom shorter with dark hair. Both were 14/15 at time of my birth. I am told b-mom & fam may have moved to California after adoption, not sure of the validity of that. I still live in same town & would love any help or info on birth family :) thanks!!!

Do your adoptive parents have any info about your birth parents? (Like a name, perhaps?) It is so hard to search without a name as a starting point.New York is, unfortunately, one of the strictest states about keeping adoptions closed. There's apparently some adoptee-rights legislation pending in the state assembly right now, but who knows if it will pass - it's failed before. (I was also born in NY, so I'm familiar with the difficulties there)Have you already tried the NYS Adoption Information Registry? It only works if both sides have submitted information, but it's possible that your birth parents have.
