It is possible for a single male in his 50's to adopt, I have a 16 year old son that I got when he was 15, and now have an 11 year brother for him. And I am a single male parent. I think it depends on how well your home study is written and what it focuses on and how determined you are, Over the two years i submitted inquiries I was picked for five kids but choose the two i felt were the best match. They were placed about a year apart and I could not be happier with my new family and purpose in life. I was persistant and think most people would have given up when faced with all of the prejudice, questioning of motives, and beauracracy that goes with it but I never gave up, it made me fight harder, and i cant imagine my life without my two kids now: if you have any questions for someone who has been though the process twice, let me know.
