I have seen several parents become very concerned when their adopted child starts exhibiting any kind of abnormal behavior, be that moodiness or rebellious behavior, etc. They tend to assume that all of this behavior is somehow tied to adoption, that the child must be experiencing an identity crisis. I wonder how much of this is true, and how much is just normal developmentally? Is there a good way to differentiate between the two?
it's hard. In my case, my 2 youngest had moments when they were younger so I attributed that to trauma and loss. Now, it's more teenage rebellion.

I honestly think it's just regular kid stuff. As an adoptee I didn't have identity issues because I was always just me. I had never know anything else, so everything always just felt normal. As normal as anyone else anyway.
