YOU GO THRU ALL THEIR LEGALITIES AND EXCRUTINITY AND THEN YOU GET NOTHING. I DON'T WANT TO LOOSE MY HOPE,AND CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT MY CHILD WILL COME. First of all, I like to tell you a little story. My husband and I were trying to adoped through the state of Arizona now here comes my story. We were with an agency that is located in phoenix Iam still a mentor with them when we started our intake interview with them my husband said he has a bio son who is now 13 he choose no contact during a court proceeding. In 1993 the boy was born the women left my husband now because the women is not all there and always on the system there came after my husband for child support so in 1999 we got our selves a lawyer and we went for custody however, before it even went to trial she was gone again. Now in 2004 her children were taking out by CPS, because her daughter was abused and some other things went on in the household. Now these women has 4 children overall. My husband viva phone called in every lawyer that we contacted would not take my husband now during the trial my huband was never asked if he would like custody over his son neither was it recommend by CPS that the biological father would be a better placement for the children now with only four classes left in mapp-training we were told that we would not get certified because of that my husband choose no contact with his son as longest she is in the picture, but now my husband can finally pay his support. Overall, she did a plea bargain she had her kids back with in a matter of weeks and these was in the state of florida. Now my husband and I can not adoped the boy we are mentoring from the beginning to the end we were honest with the agency we provided every document that was needed during our second homestudy we were down graded and made out to be the bad people who did these to her kids. Would we like to have his son yes would we love to adoped the child we are mentoring yes, but when the sytem has failed every body needs a scapcoat the coats in these case were my husband and I. The agency pushed for Fost/adoped but no we wanted to adoped the boy that we are mentoring who is legally free. The hardest thing I ever had to do was to walk away from the adoption so now I remain his friend. What is sad that we want to adoped, but we get put in the lime light of stereotyping why have we not done more for his own son? Why did nt" the system helped these kids? Why did she got her kids when her daughter was sexualy abused and her 4 year old son is masturbating while in state custody? My answear is the system in Florida has failed again now the pointing the finger at my husband during our homestudy shame on you. My husband and I will move on with our lives we are educated hard working people will we ever try to adoped again the anwear is no. I am not going trough these again I made two scrapbooks during the process one scrapbook was to artistic for the agency the other one I was told to make and I never had a change to turn it in, but I was told to make another one very strange? These is our story about trying to adoped it is bitter, sweet, frustrating, angry a bunch of different emotions, but we learned a lesson alot of times nobody wants to hear the truth, because the truth hurts people, but I believe we are in America were we have freedom of speech, but now I have my doubts. Good luck to all of you. Andrew& Sylvia
