In 1984 I adopted my wife's 9 month old. Final adoption papers were never filed with NYS Vital Statistics, so his official birth certificate still reads with his mothers maiden name. All of his records (school, medical, etc.) were entered under his adopted name. This is wreaking havok with his attaining Social Security card, Drivers Lic, etc. The filing lawyer no longer has copies of records. Please help me discover where to turn. - rgwit@hotmail.com

Without agency, and county of birth, adoption decree finalization,it is almost useless,But keep searching. Hope you find your info,as do I. Bless the parents.
