This ladies name is Astrid Steinsland. She is suppose to be someone to turn to for help. In my case, she was no help. She told me that she had no record of a female born at a Booth home in grand Rapids, Mi on my birthdate. I have proof I was born at that hospital---I tried to recontact with the info I had. My e-mails went unanswered. just thought I would share.

Astrid Steinsland, Caseworker Booth Hospital Records Ministry 847-294-2090 Just write and ask for the forms to Consent for Release of Info. Sometimes the babies were born at one of the local hospitals instead of Booth. They also transposed numbers. I has born at 4:51pm according to Astrid, but my amended (joke) birth certificate says 4:57pm. Maybe the day is off. Astrid has been wonderful...remember, she is the only one doing her job, and she is not allowed to do/say anything until she has your info and your papers. Give her as much info as you can, and she will dig for you. If your Bmom was at a Booth Home in her territory, she will do all the can for you. Be patient, she is a VERY busy woman, with a heart of gold!

my husband was born in 1959, his mother just dropped him off somewhere as an infant. how do we find out his info if at all.

Oh, my GOSH! Where to begin. My name was Christina Marie Bradfield. Astrid called me on 02/26/04...she didn't want to tell me that she could find NO RECORD of me at Booth in Grand Rapids! in 1997 my bAunt had written to her asking about me..that's how she had all of my demographics on hand. On a whim, she sent the bAunt a letter...and she called as soon as she got it...THRILLED that I was located!!! My Aunt Bonnie called my bMom after Astrid and I spoke Thursday evening. Friday evening, Astrid called to tell me that my bMom, Robin, would be calling at 7:30pm. I talked to her for 2 hours, we are SO much alike! She told me that she never wanted to give me up, and had no idea her Mother had gotten Catholic Social Services invloved until they wouldn't let her bring me home...and only let her go, because she had called my bfather for the first time in 28 years earlier, and said he was waiting anxiously to hear from me, too! I called him after filling Astrid in on what I found out. I cannot even explain the overwhelming feelings I got talking to him. He asked if he should call me Christina or Andria...and I told him whatever he wants. He said if it was OK, he would just call me "Baby". He told me that he loves me, has always loved and wanted me, and missed me SO much. He and my bMom stayed together 2 years after I was born, and he has always worried about her and me. ALL of his family wanted me to be kept with him, and have always talked about me. I gained on her side not only a Mom, but 3 Aunts and 1 Uncle, and a Grandma. A 16 yr old sister, and a 24 year old brother. On his side I gained not only a Dad, but a step-Mom, a 13 year old sister...and 4 Aunts/4 Uncles. His parents and her father are deceased, sadly. 1st f2f w/bDad scheduled for 03/02/04. 1st f2f w/bMom scheduled for 03/07/04.
