I see a ton of people looking for their birth mothers with no reply.
Is this a waste of time or what?
Are any birth mothers out there looking for their kids?
Honestly I think I am a product of Woodstock personally but that is a guess.
I dont want to sit here and think, well maybe someone will happen into this forum that has had a baby boy born on same date as me and email me when it wont.
I know it takes a lot of time no doubt but all these people in this state alone let alone other states with no replies at all.
Is this a waste of time?

I am faily new to this site and actually just started to search for the son/grandson of my future in-laws. I know it has been a long awaited dream of this young man's father to meet his son, as well as his grandmother who wanted to adopt him, but was refused by the birth mother. They have no idea where he is or where he went and I am trying so hard to find some sort of lead for them both.
There are times I get so frusterated b/c I have never done anything like this before, I just happened upon this site by accident when I was searching for St. Joseph's Hospital in Scranton. I have registered with a few other free sites as well, but to no avail. I suppose I am hoping for an overnight miracle, but I know that is not how it works. My future mother in law is 74 and has some health troubles that she is going to have taken care of this summer w/an operation. I know it would make her so happy to see her grandson.
I am going to try that Pa site right now and see where that takes me. If you know of anything else I could be doing, any information would be great and appreciated fully.
Thank you so much for being a positve influence in an often frusterating and sensitive area of all of our lives.
God Bless

Karen De Luca can probably give you some good advice, Christine. As I mentioned, she just came out with a book on searching; she has the PAAR (Pennsylvania Adoption Registry; already went through a long search, and has dedicated herself to helping others find lost ones.
Also, you might check with Colleen Buckner, The Search Guru. She can offer advice, too.
I pray that you have good luck ... I'm a 70 year old Grandma (on 5/24, that is) and know what grandchildren can do to make one feel complete. I'd like to see this Grandma have her prayers answered...as well as her son's success.
Bless you for loving so much that you've taken this task upon yourself.
Love and Hugs, Carol
John, Have you checked out the Registries on all of the Adoption Websites? Don't just list in the Pennsylvania registry -- do all the free ones.
There are several Forums here where Birthmothers go for support and they also look in on the Adoptee forums, so do some reading.
Check them all out. I can tell you that there are a lot of Moms looking for their sons; NOW more than ever before.
Good Luck to you

I've only been searching for my daughter for several months, but I have wondered if her birth certificate contained the original/correct information. If her birth date was changed, does she know that? Did her adoptive parents hide her past from her? All this has been weighing heavily on my mind. Birth Moms do want what's best for their child.

Jay, your post is so old but here goes. I am a bmom looking for my son born 12/27/73 in Springfield. Yes, it is southwest of Philly in Delaware county. The name of the hospital then was Tri-County Hospital. PA gives birth parents no rights and no information. I have posted here for years hoping my son is searching. I am registered just about everywhere, so if he is, I should be very easy to find. Good luck in your search.
Yes, we're here. I've been sarching whatever databanks I :wings: can pull up on my screen. I haven't come close, but I keep on trying.
yes iam. i only hope everyday. that i will find my son. been looking since 2005. since it went through ny state. the records are sealed. i just hope that he is looking for me. and that we will be together someday. i hope you find what your looking for. barbara

I am helping my step mother find her birth daughter. She was born 10/28/70 at Abington Hospital, Abington, PA. She is thinking of hiring Omni Trace to do a search for her. PA is so hard and I am trying so hard to help her out!

Before your stepmom hires this search agency, you may want to ask for opinions (to be given via Private Message only), about the process they went through. I understand that some of the "regulars" here on the forums used Omni Trace, so hopefully they'll give you a clearer picture about their own experiences with the agency.
I know there are many birthmothers looking for their child. I am one and have been looking for years! I actually just found my birthmother, but unfortunately it is too late. She passed in 2001. It has made me more determined to find my daughter. I wish you luck with finding your parents, and send love to you from this birthmother.

I'm a birth stepmother, helping my husband look for his son given up for adoption, and the birth mother (now age 64, is open to reunion too), so the answer is yes. It is hard to search through these forums, they don't make it too easy. Don't give up. PS looking for male born 10/7/1967 in Haverford Hospital, Haverford Township, PA, adopted by a nurse from NY, lived in a town that starts with an "O", that's all we know so far.
for all of those searching in PA, the statehas opened the adoption records and they are no longer sealed. If you want to see what has been done go to Pa adoption records.
I wish you all the best.
