I have found a birthmother that wants to give her child for adoption. I live in Illinois and she lives in Iowa. It would be a private adoption. Does she need a lawyer also? Do I need two lawyers for myself? One lawyer in Illinois and one in Iowa? She is also married and the child is from an affair. In the state of Iowa is the husband named the father regardless if it is his or not? Help!

You will need an attorney in your state, and the birth mother should have independent counsel in her state. You should not need to have an attorney in the birth mother's state, too.
I'd advise you to speak with an attorney as soon as possible, to advise you about what steps you must take to prepare for an adoption (such as the home study) and regarding legal issues like the birth father's rights.
