Gabriella tells her story about life as a child in the foster care system. She fully recognizes that life was different for her than it was for children who were never removed from their biological homes. Lonely and scared, Gabriella also lost her excitement for life and her love for herself.
She held herself up with resistance and sarcasm. She protected herself by quickly learning how to take care of herself both physically and emotionally. Gabriella grew up fast as her life at home fell apart and she was placed in foster care. Losing trust and then having to learn to trust again has been a painful process. Yet, Gabriella has decided to make the most of her life.
