Well, I don't know about you all but I feel as if I have become an armchair TV critic of DS' shows. Honestly, some leave me scratching my head thinking, do kids really like this? Do adults think kids like this?
So, on a lighter note, feel free to discuss your current faves/non-faves (and as most of you have 2-3 yo's, it changes every week, at least for us).
Mine:
*Max & Ruby-Ruby has to be THE dumbest animal on this planet...she is always losing Max, etc. I literally have to leave the room when this is on.
*Miss Spider's Sunny Patch-cute show and about adoption too but does anyone else get CREEPED OUT by Spiderus? WTH? And his WIFE? She looks like Satan!
*Charlie & Lola-This I could watch ALL day. They are so darn cute with their accents and all.
*Caillou-God help me, the whining. Like nails on a chalkboard!
We are praying for good weather soon...so we aren't cooped up inside watching these shows! :thanks:

Jenna, yes! We are not watching nearly as much TV now with the weather. YAY!
Kinda OT about Blue's Clues: Has anyone seen the Groundhog Day epi of Jack's Big Music Show? One of the musical interludes is Steve's new band...and Steve is bald! It really took some getting used to but actually, he looks BETTER bald, if you can imagine.
Betelnut, that is hilarious about Little Einsteins! I always hated the patting thing. I mean, I know they want the kids involved but, jeesh. Every show it seems is all about talking directly to the kids or making them do motions. I do love how they involve artists or composers but c'mon, do some composers/music that we kinda know! Some of the pieces they choose are really bizarre!

My 18 month old son likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - but only for a short time. loves everything Mickey. Wiggles - LOVEs them. i like them too, they sing & dance & have good clean fun. Baby Einstien - not bad, good clean fun. Barney - not bad for me. Veggietales - a favorite in this house. -Why did they cut Playhouse Disney to 9am!? We don't watch it too much past then but now all the shows are just one show & we miss the good ones. HATES: Bunnytown - everything about it annoys me. I can't believe they added it, especially in such a prominent time spot. Give THEM the 5:30am & give Wiggles / another that one. Spongebob - I WILL NOT let him watch this. Too violent / bad manners / etc. I don't want him picking up on that. Charlie & Lola - I can't stand it really. I don't know what it is...maybe the little girl? I don't know. He has no interest in it though. Blue's Clues - Never caught this show actually! LOL Sesame Street - Never caught this one either (I just recently started being home in order to).
Vogi: ITA about Spongebob. I really don't see the appeal. And I figure DS will eventually like it, so why expose him to it earlier than necessary? BTW, on the way to/from Fla, the airline showed spongebob. Yuck.
Also, has anyone else noticed that there really hasn't been a "hit" show for a long time? You know, one where everyone just goes nuts, there's TONS of merchandise, toys, lunch boxes, etc? There really hasn't been a hit show since spongebob/dora/diego, kwim?

I never realized that was Steve from BC either! Hahaha. I just told my Husband and we laughed. We don't watch anything but Noggin and PBS because I refuse to expose him to commercials at this point. With my broadcasting history, I KNOW the intentions of commercials and I don't want them exposed to that any sooner than they need to be. Yes, I'm going to be that Mom. LOL

OMG, thank gosh for the warmer weather. Less BOOB TUBE. In fact, some days we don't see any at all....WHOOT! But I have to say, "what in God's name is this Yo Gabba Gabba?" It actually scares me (DD likes it now...she's so fickle!). Also, for you "old folk" out there, I have put H&R Puffnstuff on Youtube (talk about a "psychedelic" kids' show) and DD loves it!! Brings back some funny memories for me (this is the one with Witchypoo).
Steve rocks singing about dirt!!! I think it is funny that he got out of the kids biz, only to find himself back in it again... Maybe they had to replace him because he was losing his hair!!?? I do prefer the old Steve episodes to the Joe episodes. DD flips back and forth - but when she wants one, and the other is on, WATCH OUT!! It is not pretty!!:hissy: DD#1 LOVES sponge bob - and it is growing on me. He did save us as there was a marathon on when we made an ER trip with a lymph node infection (looked like she swallowed a golf ball...). Good old SB and Patrick kept her occupied for 3 hrs - IV and all.... I love the fossil episode of charlie and lola... (I am a geologist by training). (OT - but we have a nesting pair of blue jays in our yard - and we have taken to calling them Charlie and Lola!!) Mega

Had to share this on a thread that would appreciate it--since we're home now during the day, MAM's been watching more PBS. Usually, we're a DVD sort of family (no cable here). Anyway, those blurbs they have between shows (their form of a commercial) have come to her attention.
"What's this preview, Mama?"
"Honey, those aren't previews, they are commercials"
"Well, they're like a preview."
Anyway, yesterday afternoon we caught the PBS show with the farm animals--the daddy pig is definitely from Ireland and had a flashback to a childhood memory in the old country. CRACKED me up! Does anyone know the name of it?

Betelnut, I do love the song, "Let's get the sillies out!"
I love Sprout. TJ is mesmorized by it, so we have to limit it. I too can not stand Calliou. Angelina Ballerina is a very nasty little girl and I wish one of those mice would put her in her place. I also hate Noddy. Not the show, but at times, I have to tell TJ something is "naughty" and he looks at me like I'm a fool. Noddy drives a groovy red car!!!!!
Okay, I'm plugging the Leap Frog Letter Factory. We have a 3 hour drive to our lake house so I bought that one for TJ and that is about all he wants to watch. He is almost 23 months, but about 2 months ago, I was singing the "Every letter makes a sound, the A says..." and my son said the sound. So, I tried b and c and d and he knew every one of them!!!!! It really is good. I gave a copy to the lady who watches him a few hours a week for me and ALL of the kids she keeps are learning their letter.

2 things:
it seems that Nick bought Noggin. GROAN...they already are doing commericals for nick shows on Noggin...UGH. Just what I need...my kid exposed to shows I don't want him watching yet...but I know that's Nick's point.
I think it's just a matter of time before Noggin starts having "real" commercials like Nick does. BOO.
2-Does anyone watch Sprout mid to late a.m.? Doesn't the host kinda look and act JUST like Will Ferrell? He even sounds like him. Cracks me up.
