We are going to the northeast region of Brazil, Recife. Where are ya'll going? What type of skin coloring are you expecting to get?

I am interested in finding out if any of you who have posted earlier in the year have completed the adoption process from Brazil? Has anyone adopted an infant from Brazil recently?
Hi,
I'm Brazilian but I live in US. My husband and I are thinking to adopt a child and my first choice is Brazil. I am just about to take the very first steps, actually I should say that this e-mail is my very first step. It seems that you already have taken some steps into this matter, I would love if you could share them with me.
Thank you

You may want to check with a great agency called LIMIAR
Go to www.limiar.com or call (210)479-0300 and speak with Nancy.
I am Brazilian/American and we are starting our adoption process this month. If you are a Brazilian (or your spouse) you will be given priority over the foreign people. It seems easy to adopt in Brazil. It is a lot of paperwork but I am sure you will do fine.
Hi,
Actually I found out that it is not necessary to use an agency to adopt in Brasil. I found this info straight from the oficial organ in RJ , a person there sent me all the necessary info by e-mail and answered to my questions. If you want more details on that I can provide to you.
I know you don't need to use an agency. However the burocracy in Brazil is not that easy to understand. You may want to go to a Brazilian site I found this afternoon called www.filhosdocoracao.com and check on same things; It is a cool site (I hope I wrote the site right).
It would be helpful if you have someone (a family member) in Brazil to be your power of attorney and to keep on top of CEJA for you. I just think if we use an intermediary it would be a quicker and smoother process.
Anyway, Limiar offers cheap service and they are very reliable. I've spoken to some families who adopted through them and I am quite impressed.
I am new at it but if you have any questions please feel free to write to me.
On a second thought I would like to have the information you got from CEJA in Brazil. Thank you. Do you need my e-mail address?

Does anyone have any idea if there is an agency in Illinois (specifically in the Chicago land area) that deals with Brazilian adoption? We adopted a little boy from Brazil when he was 9 months old - but I was living down there and able to do it as a resident. Now we are in the U.S. and have a desire to adopt a little girl. Any ideas?
Hi!
I am not aware of any agency in your area, but I am in the final phase of adopting two sibling in Brazil. We live in Connecticut and our "agency" (facilitator taht works directly with CEJA in Brazil) is in Texas. Check on www.limiar.com They are great and have done a wonderful job with Brazilian adoptions and with the poor families in Brazil.
