Foster Families Continue to Fight Flu Vaccine

In the state of Washington, foster families who house any foster child under the age of two must have everyone in the household vaccinated against the flu. Those who refuse to comply with the law may lose their foster license.

Having medical decisions mandated or forced upon individuals is very concerning to some foster families. These families feel as though they are being muffled — like they no longer have a voice. And how effective is this flu vaccine law, anyway, when kids go to day care or preschool where the complete vaccination cannot be enforced.
