After the success of their first Meet The Kids event and film, SWAN knew they would have to do a second part, highlighting 12 more wonderful foster kids. Through iPods, the kids interviewed each other to capture one another’s stories.
“I want somebody who won’t judge me … who will support me through all of my hard times,” says Rita.
She doesn’t want to be judged because, like every one of us, she is in the process of change. Her past doesn’t define her, and it doesn’t define any foster youth, or anyone for that matter. Her message isn’t much different from the others. They are all youth who want to be loved and accepted. The first project highlighting foster youth in Pennsylvania may be viewed here.
