Steven Curtis Chapman (born November 21, 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky) has been one of the biggest stars of contemporary Christian music since the late 1980s.

He is also a nationally recognized advocate for adoption. After Chapman and his wife of 20 years, Mary Beth had three biological children, they adopted three Chinese girls in a five-year period. Baby Maria joined Emily (18), Caleb (14), Will Franklin (13), Shaohannah (5) and Stevey Joy (2) to make the Chapmans a family of eight.

Steven Curtis Chapman has won 47 Dove Awards, five Grammys, an American Music Award and has had 41 No. 1 radio hits. Selling over nine million records in his career, his Grammy-winning project, Speechless has been RIAA-certified Platinum, while For The Sake of the Call and The Great Adventure are RIAA-certified Gold.

The Chapmans are the founders of Show Hope, an organization that both gives adoption grants and provides care centers for orphans in the Henan province of China.
