I believe that love is present in every relationship created by adoption. It is a fantastic kind of love that is difficult to describe unless you experience it yourself. Ross and his father, Alan, do a great job of giving us an idea of what this love and connection look like.
November is National Adoption Month. This month in particular we celebrate adoption, and celebrate the relationships it allows us. It made me smile to watch the admiration in his father’s eyes as Ross talked about being adopted. Is Ross grateful he was adopted? His reply, “Absolutely”!
As Ross and Alan share a few memories it is evident that both of their lives have been richly blessed by adoption. Ross said, “I’m here because my birth mother decided that I deserve a chance.” Their unscripted exchanges speak volumes about the love they have for one another. Their actions towards one another, in my opinion, are as profound as the things they say. This candid interview so accurately portrays a father’s incomparable love for his son, a son’s love for his father, and their shared love for adoption.
