How do hopeful adoptive parents connect with a birth mother as they work toward their dream of adoption? When working with an agency, potential adoptive parents and birth mothers are “matched” with the agency facilitating connections. Many hopeful adoptive parents search out birth mothers through word-of-mouth, social media, and other avenues as they share their desire to adopt. Profiles of hopeful adoptive parents on various sites and with agencies allow birth mothers a general view of potential parents as they carefully narrow down the choices of the people the birth mother will choose to place her child with. Many hopeful adoptive parents create a blog or FaceBook page dedicated to their desires to adopt. In this video the panel discusses various methods to connect with a birth mother.
