Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Families First is a non-profit organization which began in 1890 as an orphanage for homeless girls.  Their goal is to help children by helping their families.  Families First offers counseling and support, education, foster care, adoption services, and more.

This month, Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms spoke with AJC.com to help raise awareness about adoption.  She shared her experience of making the decision, with her husband, to adopt.  Having struggled with infertility, they finally overcame concerns and began to gather information about adoption.  Their joy increased each time they adopted, and they eventually adopted 4 beautiful children.

Councilwoman Bottoms sings the praises of Families First as a reputable, solid agency which is also affordable.  When asked what advice she might share with others considering adoption, she cautions that patience is key.  If you stick to your heart, the children you are meant to have will come to you at the right time.
