Benjavae’s life turned completely around when her daughter’s children were removed from their home. Considering her tender grandchildren, Benjavae felt their pain at being torn away from the familiar. She hoped her daughter would turn her life around and once again be able to care for her children. But with a clear picture of reality, Benjavae came to realize that the ideal wouldn’t happen. For the two children to have stability and permanency, Benjavae would adopt them. But even after adoption, Benjavae is still, and will always be, their “Grammie.” With great love, Benjavae has kept the girls’ mother in their lives. She is still “Mommy,” and together the four are a family.
