Carmen was devastated when her children were removed from her home. Yes, she was addicted to crack, but she still considered herself a good mother. Carmen loved her children. But they were taken away and her parental rights were scheduled to be terminated. Carmen tried hard, but despite her efforts, her children were legally separated from her.
The sweet conclusion, though, is that Carmen trusted in God. Regardless of what the law stated, Carmen would retain parental responsibility. Yes, her children were removed, but nothing could sever her love for them. Now, with most of her children grown, she still has contact and has retained a loving relationship.
