Matt and Heather share their story, which is really Lily’s story. Lily has been abandoned twice. Matt and Heather knew, when they found out about Lilly and her condition, that she belonged with them. When Matt and Heather heard of Lily, she had already spent 40 days in isolation in a hospital. Lily needed love, she needed permanency, and she needed parents.
Lily is HIV positive and she is precious. Unlike most adoption stories, Lily’s parents welcomed her just three days after finding out about Lily. Matt and Heather immediately educated themselves and so moving forward as Lily’s parents was manageable and joyful.
