Chuck and Penny Hauer have 45 adopted children. There are currently 18 children living at home. Many of the Hauer family adopted children are disabled, and so it’s very difficult for the family to maintain the yard and care for the house.
A local non-profit organization, Passion 4 KIDS, stepped in to assist the family. The faith-based group consisted of 50 college-aged youth from around the country who worked hard installing shelving, cleaning out the garage, planting a vegetable garden, entertaining, and more. All of this service was done with a lot of big smiles. For the Hauer family, this act of service means everything. “Thank you,” they say, “isn’t enough.”
