Video: Foster Care is Not a Source of Income but a Way to Help Children

Have you seen this?

Carla the Bubblelush, popular vlogger, takes on the question regarding foster parenting:  “Are you doing it for the money?”  In addition to rolling her eyes at the question, she explains what fostering is really all about.

She explains that the government doesn’t pay enough to consider foster parenting as a source of income.  In most cases, it boils down to about $1/hour.  The amount paid for foster care per child is to help cover the cost of care – and often doesn’t even meet that.  Those expecting to make money through foster care should look elsewhere.

Throughout the video, Carla includes tips for becoming a better foster parent. Carla explains that foster parenting is about love, about care, about offering stability.
