This shocking video brings to light the outrageous statistics of abuse that takes place in foster care. Already traumatized children who are removed from homes of neglect and abuse should be given opportunities to feel safe, to feel protected, and to feel loved. Sadly, many of these children are removed only to be placed in situations that are as bad, or worse than what they came from.
Stopping the abuse of children should be a priority in our society. To be fair, administrators and social workers are looking for solutions. There is a screening process required that includes criminal background checks. However, too many slip through the process and make money bringing already hurt children into their homes, without ever expecting to provide what is most needed: safety and love.
