You Could Hear Me–A Birth Mother’s Story in Song

From parenting to placing.

Denalee Chapman December 24, 2014

Jocie Jerome was 15-years-old when she delivered a beautiful, healthy boy. There was never a question–Jocie would parent, just as her sisters had done as teen mothers. And so Jocie gave up her teenage life for a greater cause she became a mother. She poured her whole heart and soul into mothering little Levi. And then, when Levi was 6-months-old the clear thought came to her, he’s not yours anymore

This video is Jocie’s journey from parenting to placing in music and photographs. Written by Jocie Jerome and performed by Jocie Jerome and Michael Cox, You Could Hear Me is a beautiful expression of the love of a birth mother.
