Besides telling your parents that you are expecting a child and plan to place the child for adoption, there are other people in birth mothers’ lives who will need to be told. How do you tell them? How will they react? How will you respond to their reactions? In this video our panel of birth family members share their experiences in telling friends, family members and even acquaintances. All of our panel had very positive responses to sharing the news. Most people are supportive beyond just being accepting—but rather offer help to support emotionally and in other ways. The goodness of humanity comes out, often when we least expect it!
