In high school, he began sharing his story with others. Now, David Scotton of New Orleans, Louisiana, is sharing his adoption journey with the world.

In the documentary I Lived on Parker Avenue, Scotton shares his personal search and reunion with his birth family.

“Growing up, I always wondered about my birth family and what it would be like to meet them,” he said. “It was the missing piece of the puzzle for me in my life, and I am very thankful to have been able to fill it in through this journey.”

The documentary, which is scheduled to be released in March of 2018, follows Scotton as he travels to Indiana to meet his birth family.

“It was a humbling experience,” he said, adding that he hopes the documentary of his journey to finding his birth family encourages other adoptees to share their stories.

The 30-minute documentary will be free to watch online, and DVDs will be available for purchase.
