The process of waiting may seem insurmountable. It may seem impossible to be able to wait one, two, or more years to add your child to your family. Yet our international adoptive parent panelists tell us that it is during this wait period that much bonding and growth takes place. During the wait time, visits are often required. This is a great gift as you, the adoptive parent, must leave all else behind and spend time alone with your child in the orphanage. As with all things in life, adversity creates strength if we allow it. During the time of wait, many prayers are offered, you labor mentally and physically as you make sure all the paperwork is created, and hope beyond hope that your child will soon come home to you helps to create an unbreakable bond.
