Celebrity, Katherine Heigle, is a typical mom–very proud of her family. Katherine was raised with an older sister. What’s unique about that is they look nothing alike. Katherine’s parents adopted her sister from Korea. And with her comfortable family upbringing, the two grew up as not only sisters, but also best friends. In Katherine’s heart, she always knew she’d want a family like the one she grew up in.
And so when it came time for Katherine to begin and grow a family, she and her husband, Josh Kelley, started with adoption. Their oldest child is adopted from South Korea. Three years later, they adopted a child domestically. Katherine surprised herself with this adoption, never having planned to adopt within the United States. But, “it happened gracefully and she appreciates the privilege,” Celebrity Insider reported. And then the third addition: When Katherine became pregnant, it was a total surprise. “[It was] totally unexpected but thrilling nonetheless,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Grateful for her life as a wife and mother, Katherine says, “It’s so much better than I could have ever imagined, my life and family. It’s just trying to remember that and be grateful and try and hold onto it ’cause you do get caught up in the minute.” Katherine and Josh, even while in the midst of parenting three young ones, say they are now considering foster parenting.
