Madonna has been in the public eye for decades, but it is rare that her children are on display for her many fans. On a recent trip to Malawi, the country from which Madonna has adopted multiple times, Madonna shared a photo on her Instagram that shocked fans globally.
WSOC TV shared news of the unique photo taken in Malawi at a charity event. The photo taken from Madonna’s instagram account is certainly a gem. Pictured in the photo are all six of Madonna’s children rarely photographed and almost never photographed together. Madonna captioned the photo, “ Tree of Life….Mercy James Pediatric Hospital! One year later!”
Madonna and her children were together in Malawi celebrating the one year anniversary of the hospital’s opening. The hospital is named after one of four children Madonna has adopted from the country of Malawi. While Madonna often documents her adoption journeys and features her children on her Instagram individually, this picture was certainly a welcome surprise for the singer’s fans and followers.
Madonna is no stranger to Malawi and has returned to visit multiple time after adopting daughter Mercy, son David, and twin daughters Esterre and Stella. Madonna also has two biological children, Lourdes and Rocco, who accompanied her on the trip. The rare photo was just one of many from the recent Malawi trip to celebrate one year for Mercy James Pediatric Hospital.
Malawi has remained close to Madonna’s heart even after her adoptions, so much so that Madonna started a charity in its name. The hospital is just one venture of Madonna’s charity appropriately named “Raising Malawi.”
Mercy James Pediatric Hospital is fitting for Madonna who has often expressed her love for children both through her charity and through adoption. This picture, hopefully, is one of more to come as she makes further strides with her charity and adoption advocacy.
