Musician Peder Eide tells us where his song, “Why Wouldn’t I?” comes from. He and his wife had three biological children when his wife felt that someone was missing. For medical reasons, they had previously decided that their family was complete. But through a series of situations, they decided on international adoption.
The question, “Why Wouldn’t I?” is well asked. For the Eides, they know that adoption is a gift, not only for adopted children, but also for adoptive families. With 5 children now, 3 biological, one from Korea and one from Ethiopia, they continue to ask themselves and others: “Why Wouldn’t I?”
