US Attorney Richard Callahan offered a rare interview regarding an ongoing case. This case is in regards to the Homer G. Phillips Hospital. Birth mother Zella Jackson claims that she gave birth in the 1960s at the Homer G. Phillips Hospital, then was told that her baby died at birth, only to find out years later that her daughter was listed as “abandoned” and then was placed in foster care and later adopted.
However, eighteen pages of records maintained by state foster care completely contradict Zella Jackson’s claim. They state that the baby was born at City Hospital #1 and that the baby was actually abandoned. It is hoped that gathering further facts will resolve the two conflicting stories and the investigation will prove to discover the truth.
