What are post-adoption reports, and what do they mean to adoptive parents? In this video, our International Adoption Panel discusses the benefits of completing post-adoption reports for the countries adopted from. These are required for countries to continue to allow adoptions. They need to know that the children they allow to leave their countries thrive in their new circumstances.

Without a doubt, it creates more work for adoptive families as well as for social workers. Required are home visits after the adoption, photos, and additional items specific to each country. But besides being more work, it is good for the adoptive families to have additional visits from social workers to help answer questions and to help offer resources and advice.
