Alexander is an adorable, sweet child who is a pleasure to be around. He loves attention, soft talk, and interaction. He is a resilient boy who loves to receive attention. Alexander is medically fragile. He is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Cerebral Hypoxia, and Epilepsy. He requires a wheelchair for mobility. When Alexander is not mobile, he is in his crib and repositioned routinely. Although he is nonverbal, he is able to communicate by extending his limbs and making sounds with his mouth. Alexander enjoys it when people talk to him and interact with him. He is able to follow the voice that is talking to him and he shows his appreciation with a vibrant smile. Alexander requires a feeding tube. He has a healthy appetite and is growing rapidly. Alexander also requires an oxygen machine and continuous monitoring. He enjoys age appropriate toys that make sounds or play music. He also enjoys daily stimulation and contact from others in his environment. Alexander will continue to thrive in the care of a forever family who will help him reach his full potential.
Alexander needs a family who will adequately provide services for his health needs and love him unconditionally. He will benefit from a family that is very knowledgeable about children with special needs. His family will proactively seek resources that will benefit Alexander. They will devote the appropriate amount of time to supervise and care for him. If the family has other children, they must be old enough to understand how to appropriately interact with Alexander.
