Devin and I met when he sat next to me in a sacrament meeting on his first day attending our ward. He sang tenor and bass parts in the hymns with his beautiful, deep voice. So, I invited him to come sing in the ward choir. He came to the choir, and we started talking after that. He asked me out for our first date about a month after that first Sunday, fell in love, and we were married one year later.

Devin is hard working, caring, and loves to make people happy. One of his good friends told me that he would bend over backwards to help others. He enjoys cooking and eating. He loves being outside; mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, and skiing. He likes spending time with his family and being the favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Yuri stood out to me from the moment I met her. She is cheerful and talented, always cooking, baking, and working on crafting projects. She is level-headed, diligent, and hard-working. She is proud of her Japanese heritage and celebrates it through cooking, playing the koto, and performing and teaching the Japanese tea ceremony. Yuri has many friends from all walks of life and is well liked by all. She is wonderful with all my nieces and nephews, and I can see how great of a mother she will be.

We love learning and education. We both work in research fields and love learning experiences we get through our work. This love of learning is something we want to pass on to our future children. We enjoy being outside. We go hiking when we have time. Devin is trying to teach Yuri mountain biking and rock climbing. We love eating and trying different kinds of food and cooking together. We cook Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Mexican, and many other kinds of food. We enjoy music, singing, and playing instruments. We like to spend time together as a family especially on special occasions such as birthdays and holidays. We plan to annually visit Yuri’s family in Japan and hope to someday travel to other places. We cannot wait to share these moments with your child and explore new things as they show interest.
