Our Family
Dear Expectant Momma

I hope you know that God loves you so very much!

We are so grateful that you are taking the time to learn a little bit about our family. We hope that we can share with you our heart for Jesus and for adoption, the love we have for each other and for our family, and the desire we have to grow our family through adoption. We are ready to see the beautiful story the Lord has written, and we want to thank you for taking this brave leap of faith to give your baby a chance at life. As we watch and listen to the three little miracles God has already put into our family as we write this letter, we are reminded of His goodness and provision in all circumstances. So, thank you for listening. Thank you for choosing life for your child, whose life matters so much to God. Thank you for your bravery, your willingness and your selflessness as you make...

Why Adoption?

After many years of prayer, we have felt an incredible amount of both peace and excitement to begin this next chapter of our lives.

Our Kids
We have both wanted to adopt since before we even knew each other. After we became husband and wife, it wasn’t a matter of “if” but a matter of “when” we adopted. After many years of prayer, we have felt an incredible amount of both peace and excitement to begin this next chapter of our lives. We have had many conversations with our children about adoption and they are equally excited to begin this journey. In fact, they pray about it with us every night!
A Little About Us

We love Jesus, we love family and we love people!

July 5, 2014
We are Tress and Brianna (Bri)! Tress was born and raised in Oklahoma and Bri was born and raised in southern California. Tress is the middle of 3 boys and Bri is the oldest of 5 (4 girls and 1 boy). We met while in college at the University of Oklahoma! We got married in 2014, brought home our two yellow labs and moved out to northern Virginia—where we currently live. We had our twins, Beau and Harper in 2018 and then 2 years later welcomed our littlest, Hadley! Tress works in sports and Bri is a former pediatric oncology nurse turned stay-at-home mom. We love Jesus, we love family and we love people!
In Our Family

God is first, always, then our marriage, then our kids.

This is how our family says “I Love You!” We give this sign to each other throughout the day as a reminder!
God is first, always, then our marriage, then our kids. We know when we put God first, our marriage flourishes and we are better parents for our children. We do date night once a week as a couple, and we do “family date nights” too. We try and take each of our kids on individual “dates” so that we can be present with each of them. We strive to love others the best we can, be generous, and be respectful and kind. We want to be a light in this world and we hope to lead others to Jesus. We know how important family is and we will always make the effort to see family as much as we can. We have a lot of fun! We want to make the most of the time God has given us.

Recommendations

Carrie Turang (Mom and Grandma)

It is without question I recommend this amazing family! Brianna is my first-born child of five. I am so blessed to be her mom. She is a wonderful sister and friend to all her siblings, and they are extremely close. She grew up in California and was a great student and star athlete all the way through college. She is adventurous, has always been a hard worker, and has a huge heart for people. She became a nurse and now is an amazing mom who is self-less, caring, and fun. She is instantly your friend and anyone who knows her would agree! She went to college in Oklahoma where she met Tress. As a parent, I could not have been prouder and more excited for him to become part of our family. Tress is very athletic, loads of fun, and has a very generous heart. He is a very hands-on dad who has fun with his kids, loves them deeply, and is a great example of a Godly man for his family. Brianna and Tress are so sacrificial with their time, live life with integrity, cover their family in prayer and are incredible people and parents. My grandchildren, Beau, Harper, and Hadley are loads of fun and I love every second I am around them. They have the sweetest personalities. They are so excited to have another sibling and adore babies. They love their cousins and being around family. Beau is a sweet boy with a smile that melts your heart. He loves sports and is a protective and loving brother. Harper is a smart, talented girl who is kind, and outgoing. Hadley is funny, active, loving and can’t wait to be a big sister. This family blesses others in countless ways, no matter if it is family, friends or even strangers. They are so grateful for what God has blessed them with and are so generous and loving in return. They truly are amazing!

Sister and Aunt, Brother-in-law and Uncle

As family members of Brianna and Tress, we have had the privilege of witnessing their exceptional parenting and dedication to providing a loving and stable home for their children. Brianna and Tress are already devoted parents to their three children and have demonstrated a remarkable ability to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for their family. Their home is filled with love, laughter, and a sense of belonging, making it an ideal environment for a child to thrive. Throughout the years I have observed Brianna and Tress consistency display patience, understanding, and kindness, not only to their children but also toward others. They have a strong sense of family values, putting Christ at the center of their lives, and are committed to raising their children with empathy, compassion, and a strong moral foundation. Their desire to adopt has been imprinted on their hearts for years and years and they are commitment to providing a child with an amazing life. They have big hearts, a willingness to learn, and the resources to provide a stable and loving environment for a child to grow and flourish. I highly recommend Brianna and Tress for adoption. They would make outstanding adoptive parents, offering a child a loving home, a supportive family, and a bright future filled with endless possibilities.

Mitch and Alex Williams

Family friends

Mitch grew up with Tress and they have been friends for over 30 years, and our families have been very connected for the last 7 years. We truly cannot say enough incredible things about the Way family. They are the most amazing family that we have ever known and one we look up to with admiration. We have shouldered burdens together, enjoyed vacations together and bonded over the trenches and triumphs of parenting together. They bring a depth to life that is so meaningful and impactful through their faith in Christ and also a zest to life that is energizing and so wonderfully joyful. Their children (and ours) benefit so beautifully from this balance and without a doubt, any child would be so blessed to be in such a loving, safe, Christ centered home complete with a topping of laughter and fun! We count down the days until our families and kids can be together again. This family and our friendship with them is a true treasure in this life!

Sister

I am writing this recommendation to express my support of Brianna and Tress as prospective adoptive parents. I know this couple as Brianna is my sister and Tress is my brother in law. All growing up, Brianna and myself have been very close. Although they currently live in another state, we talk and see each other frequently. Tress is like a real brother to me. He is loving, supportive, and both of them truly go above and beyond to love on my little family. I have been able to witness first-hand the love and patience they show to not only their own kids, but to their friends and family's kids as well. They provide their children with fun opportunities to learn and grow through school and church programs, sports, and most importantly, being hands on and present. Some of the words that come to mind when I think of Brianna and Tress are love, patience, playful, funny, competitive, comforting, devoted, and generous. Their three children are proof of these qualities that they exhibit. Beau, Harper, and Hadley have been learning about adoption through books and discussions, and are constantly praying for their future brother or sister. They are the most caring kids and show so much love towards their younger cousins. Bri and Tress have talked about adoption since before they were married and I know they are the perfect family to open up their home, hearts, and family to add another member. It is my deepest desires for the Way Family to expand their family through adoption.

Brianna and Tress are two of the most humble and kind hearted people I know. The love they have for each other, their family and their friends is truly inspiring. Your child will be so loved by them and their community. One of my favorite attributes about both of them is their steadfast love for the Lord. They are guided by their faith and act with the utmost integrity in all situations. Together they create a loving and secure environment that is ideal for raising a child. Their home is filled with so much warmth and laughter that enriches anyone who enters. Brianna and Tress are truly the kind of people who make you happy when you’re with them. Thank You!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about our family. I pray you were able to catch a glimpse of our love for the Lord, our hearts to adopt and the love we have to give. We are so excited to see where God leads us in this journey. As you make this incredibly hard decision, we pray that no matter who you choose, you feel an overwhelming amount of peace in your decision. We cannot imagine how hard this decision is for you and I hope you know that we pray for you. You matter to us and we hope you know that you matter and you are loved dearly by your Heavenly Father. Thank you for considering our family.

Our Community

Family. Friends. Church. School. Co-workers. We are so blessed with a Godly community around us. Our family is really close, even with many miles of separation and a whole lot of us. We FaceTime as much as we can and we will fly all over the country just to be together. Our friends have been encouragers, prayer warriors and cheerleaders in all of life’s ups and downs. Some are here, some are states away, but we still figure out ways to see each other. Our church is about 5 minutes from home and our community here has challenged us to grow deeply in our relationship with Christ. Bri recently began volunteering in a program through our church called “Safe Haven,” which provides relationships and support for young mothers. It has in turn, provided Bri with another form of community. Lastly, our kids school has been so impactful on our children’s relationship with Christ. Godly people pour into them daily and we are so very grateful. In so many ways our communities have overlapped and we feel so loved and supported by each “small” group that forms our community.

Meet Our Kids

Meet Beau, Harper and Hadley! Our literal miracles. Beau and Harper are 6 years old and Hadley is 4 years old. They are all very outgoing, sweet and so much fun! They are professional travelers and they tend to just go-with-the-flow! They love being around family and playing outside with friends. They enjoy our family walks, bike rides and competing in basically everything. Our favorite thing about Beau is his sweet heart. He tells us everyday how “beautiful” or “handsome“ we are, and reminds us how much he loves us. Our favorite thing about Harper is the pure joy she has every day. She always wants to have fun and she is happy and cheerful almost all the time. Our favorite thing about Hadley is that she keeps us laughing. She is so funny and she doesn’t even realize it, which makes it even better! They are truly such a gift!

What I love about Tress

5:30a every morning Tress is up doing his quiet time with the Lord, packing lunches, and picking up the house from the fun that happened the night before. He gets home from work, cooks and then spends every second he can being present with me and the kids. What I love about him is how deeply he loves the Lord, how he loves me and our kids, his leadership in our home, the joy and positivity that he carries everyday, and the example he is to our kids. He makes me want to be better. He is selfless, loving, romantic, incredibly generous, filled with joy and so much fun! I have always prayed the kids would carry his joy and love for people and for life!

Meet Tress

Hey! I’m Tress. I would like to start my intro by quoting my life’s verse. Matthew 10:39 says, “whoever finds his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” I am far from perfect, but each day I attempt to let my foundation in Christ control 3 aspects of my life. Attitude, Effort, and Gratitude. I am so blessed to have Brianna, and incredibly grateful to have our children. I lost my father in 2021, but it taught me a lesson I will carry with me the rest of my life. This is our one shot, and your loved ones will remember everything. I want my wife to remember how I treat her, how I listen to her, and how much fun we have. I want our kids to remember me being there, making them laugh, holding them when they cry, and celebrating with them. Everyone has something to be grateful for, and I try to set the example for my family that everything we do should stem from the gratitude we have from the time the Lord has given us. I love to have fun, I love to try and make anything fun, and what I love most is watching the people I love have fun. I enjoy anything outside, sports, traveling, and cooking! My hope and my prayer is that my family is an example of humility, joy, and grace.

What I love about Bri

What I love about Bri is that anyone, especially her husband, who spends time with her will see a constant and consistent example of selflessness. I always tell her that she is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but it pales in comparison to how beautiful her heart is. She is constantly doing things for me, for our family, and for others. I literally have to book her some of her own “me time” so she’ll get some. I am so honored and blessed to feel so empowered and supported by her to be the leader of our family—she is the foundation. She is incredibly reliable, trustworthy, caring, and humble. When I overhear her listening to a church sermon or a Christian podcast while doing things around the house, I can’t help but be reminded that God gave us a woman who we can know is always being led by the Spirit. Her identity is truly in Christ, and she motivates me every day. I always tell her, this has been the best ten years of my life, and I can’t wait for the rest of my life with her and our family.

Meet Bri

Hi! I’m Brianna, but most people call me Bri. I am 32 years old, and I love the Lord. I grew up in a Christian home, and my faith and my family are the two very most important things in my life. I am the oldest of 5 kids (4 girls and 1 boy), and I grew up in Southern California. I went to college at the University of Oklahoma where I played softball and soccer — but best of all, I met my husband there. I am a former pediatric oncology nurse and a current stay-at-home mom, which I am loving! I love spending time with my family and friends, being outside, and traveling. Hawaii is my favorite place in the world, but I also love hiking the mountains in Montana, or a trip to NYC to see a broadway show. I love to try new food places and visit the best-rated coffee roasters wherever we are. I am always, always down for new adventures! I am very much an extrovert. My love language is quality time and acts of service. I would love to go on a medical mission trip, own my own business and continue to travel and explore the world. My biggest prayer is to raise children who love the Lord with all their hearts, who love and serve others, who are respectful, kind and compassionate, and children who are confident, brave and unashamed.

Our Story

California girl walks into an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meeting her junior year of college. An Oklahoma boy greets her at the door and says “you are so beautiful!” We became best friends and then just couldn’t get enough of each other. We were engaged 9 months after dating and married a little over a year after that (July 2014). We got two labs puppies and moved out to Virginia in 2015. In 2018 we had our twins, Beau and Harper. In 2020 we had our baby girl, Hadley. The past few years we have prayed over where God is leading us to grow our family and now, here we are!
