We are the Woolseys!!

... we will do our best to raise our children in an environment of love, and where hard work and Christian values are taught.

Who said blind dates never work?
Well, it didn't at first. ...

We were set up on a blind date while Cassidy was a junior in high school and Calem was preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It wasn't until after Calem's mission that the so-called "sparks flew." After a little over a year of dating we were married on August 16, 2013.

We both grew up in small towns in northern Utah, but our jobs took us to Idaho, where we bought a few acres and a home that we've enjoyed fixing up (well, depends on the project). We are just your typical country couple who enjoys 4-wheeling, shooting guns, riding and raising horses, camping, and spending weekends with our family and friends. We may not live super close to our families, but we make it a prior...

We are just your typical country couple who enjoys 4-wheeling, shooting guns, riding and raising horses, camping, and spending weekends with our family and friends. We may not live super close to our families, but we make it a priority to visit them as much as we can. We always enjoy our time with them whether that's playing board games, branding calves, cooking dutch oven dinners, harvesting potatoes or just visiting and reminiscing.

Adoption has a special place in our hearts. Our daughter Texie was adopted in 2021 and she has brought us so much joy. We have an open adoption and we love her birth family. We all know without a doubt that God had a hand in bringing us together. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and will do our best to raise our children in an environment of love, and where Christian values and a good work ethic are taught.

About Calem (written in Cassidy's words):

Calem will say that I make him sound better than he really is because I am a good writer, but that is simply not true.

Calem is a guy that has his head on straight and doesn't get too caught up in worldly pursuits. He has a calming demeanor that can ease even the biggest worriers (me). He grew up on a farm where he learned to work hard, but he also knows when to put the work down for more important things. I swear that guy can build or fix anything he puts his mind to. He currently works as a welder where he works on irrigation and farming equipment.

One of the things that stood out to me when we were dating was how much he loves kids. It's not rare for Calem to be playing with his nieces, nephews and younger cousins, instead of mingling with the adults. He is the second oldest of seven siblings and has one niece and four nephews that adore him.

About Cassidy (written in Calem's words):

Cassidy grew up in a little town in Utah where she enjoyed the country lifestyle – helping her dad with the cows, playing sports, participating in FFA and more. All that eventually led her to getting a degree in agricultural communications. From there she got a job at the Progressive Cattle magazine as an editor, and I think she's pretty cool.

Cassidy is fun and spontaneous at times. She's a friend to everyone and has a soft heart. She loves the outdoors, she is creative, and she is TERRIFIED of snakes.

Cassidy has been an amazing mom to our little girl, she is kind, loving and always trying to teach her new things. I could always tell that Cassidy would be a wonderful mom from the kind of person she is around others and the way she is with her siblings. and the way that she treats me.

If you've made it this far – thanks for reading! We will never understand what you are going through, but through our adoption experience we know how big of a loving sacrifice adoption Each situation is so different and we will be open and caring to your needs. An open adoption relationship is definitely something we are open to discussing.

We can't promise that we'll be perfect parents, but the wait to become parents has molded us and stretched us, and has only made us want to be the best parents we can be. We love our little girl and we thank Heavenly Father for her birth family everyday.

Our family and friends have also been a big support through our adoption journey and they are just as excited to welcome another member to our family. We can promise this child will be one loved little boy or girl!
