"Where there is love, there is life."
Hello!

Our friendship grew into love and the rest is history.

We are the Lyman family. You may be wondering what makes us different from other couples looking to adopt. Well, all we need to do is ask you one question: Do you like Star Wars? If so, then keep reading. If not, then keep reading anyway!
Our story begins at church where we met. We became instant friends and could easily talk about anything and everything, especially our common interests in books, movies, and music. Our friendship grew into love and the rest is history. We were married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on May 21, 2009. If you haven’t already guessed, we are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Our religion is extremely important to us.  It’s a part of who we are and everything we do. We strive to maintain a Christian home where the love of God can dwell.
Remember how we asked you about Star Wars? Kevin was born with a defect called Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida affects the normal growth of the spine and legs. To support his balance and help him walk, he uses leg braces. We call them his Star Wars Stormtrooper legs because... well.. that's what they look like. Other than that, he has a normal life span like everyone else.
When someone you are close to has a disability or when you have a disability yourself, you view the world differently but also in a deep and beautiful way. We have found that to be true for ourselves. Living with a disability has given us greater compassion for all types of people. We have also learned to be positive, have a sense of humor, and to never give up. Our goal is to teach our children that it’s okay to be different, that everyone is a child of God and to always treat others with love and respect. We want our children to grow up not being afraid of people who look, act, or sound different.

A Little More About Us

Want to know what the cranberry rock-off is? Ask us about it!

Kevin + Chrissy + Kayson
We live in Utah close to our large extended family. There are a lot of cousins to play with and there is never a dull moment! Our extended family gets together frequently for reunions, celebrations, birthday parties, holidays and sometimes just to have fun. We are obsessed with traditions and have a long list of all the fun and sometimes silly things we like to do as a family. Want to know what the cranberry rock-off is? Ask us about it!
Adoption has always felt like something we were called to do, we just weren't sure about the timing. We struggled for years with infertility and were approved for adoption in 2014. We waited a year and a half for our child to come to us through adoption but instead were blessed with our biological son, Kayson. He is truly a miracle, a gift from God whom we cherish every day. Since then we have been unable to have any more biological children, however we know that children can become a part of a family in many different ways.  When we felt that it was time for another child we both prayed fervently and received an answer from God that now is the time to adopt. We know that a baby or child out there is meant to join our family through adoption.
We want to work with you on an adoption plan that you are most comfortable with, whether it be open, semi-open or closed. If you decide to place your baby with us we promise you three things: 1) We won't judge you and we will welcome you with open arms to our family 2) We will strive to be honest with you and keep our commitments. If we say we will do something we will try our best to follow through on those promises 3) We will love you, your baby, and your family.
We do not pretend to understand what you are going through. We can only imagine that it must be scary and lonely. We want you to know that we care, that you are not alone and that you are loved. You are a child of God. He loves you and He has a plan for you. Even though you are going through a difficult time right now, He will never give up on you. We know this because He has never given up on us.

Sincerely,
The Lyman Family
