At time of placement, Jessica (Natalie’s birth mother) was promised that she would someday be reunited with her daughter. Now, 21 years later, Natalie is reunited with her birth mother, Jessica. This is testimony of the love of mother. But also of the love of parents–parents who love their daughter unconditionally, enough to give her the gift of meeting her birth mother.
It is sometimes hard for adoptive parents to want to share. But Natalie’s amazing parents know there is enough room for the love of a birth mother. Reunification can be a blessing to all in the adoption triad. And it is certainly a blessing for Jessica and for Natalie.
