A 12-year-old Colorado girl is reaching out in gratitude to thank her birth mother for taking her to a local fire station shortly after birth. Halle Burke is not the only grateful one. Her parents, Julie and John Burke are grateful beyond words.
This tender news video of Halle meeting up with the personnel who cared for her at the fire station is encouraging for all women who may wonder what would become of their child if they chose to use the Safe Haven Baby law. “When I hear that story,” says Halle, “I always think of hope.” Halle hopes her story will not only reunite her with her birth mother, but will also encourage women who are afraid. She hopes they will see that there are happy endings.
