Blitz children's tree

Welcome to Love Thursday!  Isn’t he beautiful?

This is our 2-1/2 year old.  “The Blitz” was only 10 months old when he and his two older siblings joined our family as foster kids.  We’re a “forever family” now and in this photo, he is making himself at home.

It will be “The Littles” second Christmas with us and the first one where they have any idea what is going on.  Since our oldest daughter was a “little” herself, we’ve had two Christmas trees in the house.  One tree that Mama is in charge of decorating– though lots of others help–and one tree that is only for the children.  They get to decorate it and they are allowed (and encouraged) to keep redecorating it as often as they like.

When I took this photo, The Blitz had been very happily moving decorations around on the tree for about 5 minutes, all by himself.  He’s at the “do it myself” age and he is really enjoying this crazy new privilege.

When I walked back into the kitchen with the camera, my 4 year old said, “Take my picture blowing this feather, Mama.”  Then his sister was right there too, mugging for the camera.

My heart is so full of love for them, I can hardly stand it!  All 5 of our children are adopted, so I don’t know what it is like to love a biological child, but how could I love them more than this?  As I looked at my fab 5 in the kitchen, a little disheveled from a day of raucous fun, I had only one thought, “This is it” and one emotion:  Satisfaction.  Ahhhh.
