Because adoption is such a joyous event, the residents of Scottsbluff, Nebraska decided a carnival would be just the ticket. Almost 30 children joined their forever families in Scottsbluff this year. These families and others, including hopeful adoptive families and adoption professionals, enjoyed the carnival.
The Star Herald was on-hand to watch the celebration. Organizations throughout the area donated toys so the children could have a full carnival experience. Cake walks, prizes, and lots of games enthralled the young children.
Caseworkers love to attend the annual event and see the fulfillment of the work they have been doing throughout the year. There is nothing quite like the joy of seeing children who have been struggling connect with a permanent, loving family.
The 29 Adoption Day finalizations took place in 7 courtrooms throughout the county. National Adoption Day actually spreads over several days throughout the United States and is always a joyous event.
