Video: Tips on How to Prepare for a Home Study for Foster Care or Adoption

Have you seen this?

Popular vlogger, Carla the Bubblelush, addresses “What to Expect During the Home Study” in this video.  She talks about preparation and expectations.  Now a stay-at-home-mom, Carla used to be an environmental inspector.  She talks about surprise visits and how similar that is with home studies.

Whether preparing to be a foster parent, or preparing to adopt, the home study will still take place.  All home studies are different depending on the state one resides in, as well as the person doing the study.

Regardless, there are some basic things everyone can expect.  As important as it is to have a safe and clean home, often those doing the home study will be more interested in what the people who live in the home are like.  It is important to match the parents to the children’s needs, and much of that is decided during the home studies.
