“You need to know where you came from,” says 58-year-old William Taylor. William is an adoptee but didn’t know it until he came across his original birth certificate. “It was overwhelming,” William said about learning he is an adoptee. So William went on a search for his biological family after 58 years.
William echoes the thoughts of many adult adoptees who have searched, found and been reunited with birth families. That is, this isn’t just about one person–all adoptees should be able to know their roots.
