Natalie Carson has been hoping to celebrate her birthday in a happy way. As an infant, she was placed in foster care. She was then adopted by a family that abused her and went back into foster care.
For Natalie, holidays and other special days have been painful. She had an idea to reach out through Craigslist to rent a family who would celebrate her birthday with her. Natalie’s post to the classifieds has touched many people. Youth all over the country age out of foster care every day. Those who have not been adopted will never know the stability and comfort of a family to support them emotionally throughout their lives. However, Natalie wasn’t going to let things slide by any more. She took action, and she recognizes that she can be in control of her life, birthdays and all!
