Those who have never experienced adoption may question a birth family’s love for the child they are placing for adoption. For those who don’t understand because of lack of experience, this panel of birth family members would say: It is quite the opposite. Placing a child for adoption is because of the great love we have for our children, not because of a lack of love. Adoption is all about love and sacrifice. It is hard for a member of the birth family to hear that some think there is a lack of love. One of the great gifts of an adopted child is that they are the recipients of love from many different sources—families as well as birth families.
