KWWL – Eastern Iowa Breaking News, Weather, Closings
Many saw a Facebook post that caused them to be disturbed and contacted the Dubuque Police Department who followed up with an investigation. The post read: “I need some help. Does anyone know a family who would like to adopt a 4 year old girl. My parents adopted her but got new jobs and they have no time for her. I have 3 kids of my own and can not handle another. Serious inquiries only.”
As police investigated, they found that it was more a misunderstanding than anything else. Her hope was to seek assistance from adoption agencies – not to sell a child. Melissa Anderson of Hillcrest Family Services is concerned for the child. But after police performed a welfare check, they found that the child is not in harm’s way.
