Foster parents in California were honored this past Mother’s Day as the unsung heroes that they are. Non-profit organization, Foster Care Counts, was formed eight years ago. Among other things, the group gathered about 500 volunteers to create a special day for foster families. The day included dancing, rides, manicures, and more. Foster Care Counts makes it easy to help. And not just on Mother’s Day. They understand that not everyone can be a foster parent, so they provide other ways to volunteer. This includes donating any sum of money to help provide interview clothes for foster youth or providing laptops to former foster youth who are in college. They are a go-to-organization for the busy person whose heart has been touched and wants to help. Just a single click from their home page will take you to a donation opportunity of your choice.
