There’s nothing quite like a sweet reunification. And being able to capture it on video . . . what a gift! “Even though we are loved, we have great family . . . there’s a disconnect when we don’t know our past,” says 53-year-old adoptee, Katherine Benoit-Schwartz.
With the support of her adoptive family, Katherine searched for her birth parents. Devastated when she was rejected by her birth mother’s family, she was not daunted. Katherine continued searching for her birth father. It was through DNA that Katherine was able to find her father who didn’t even know she existed. And Good Housekeeping was there for the reunion. “Baby, we’ve got a lot to make up for,” said Katherine’s dad on the day they met.
