Kristle talks of growing up as an invisible child. She had irresponsible parents and at a young age decided she needed to leave her home. Her decision to leave put her in the foster care system. Although no child should have to grow up too fast, Kristle took charge of her life. She contacted her social worker each time things in foster homes escalated in a negative way.
Finally finding loving foster parents, Kristle began to thrive. She started to do better in school, socially, and as an individual. Kristle’s biological parents fought the system and incited fear in the hearts of Kristle’s good foster parents. This is Kristle’s story of survival and growth. It is a story of love and belonging.
