Lawyer Gene Balloun and his wife Sheila Wombles have fostered 29 children and adopted two.  That, in itself, has been a lot of work! On top of that, this good attorney has facilitated the adoption of more than 1,000 foster children by offering pro bono legal work. Now 86 years old, Gene and Sheila are raising their youngest, a daughter who is currently a teenager. “It keeps me young,” states Gene, whose heart is as big as any in the country. “My real joy in the law practice is not in winning some big case, but completing a final adoption,” shares Gene. Gene and Sheila have also begun a scholarship fund for foster children.
